Educational Qualification

• Matriculation or Its equivalent from recognized board
• Only Matriculation certificate shall be accepted as a proof for establishing age of the candidates

• Players who have participated or won medals in International or National level competitions between 15/01/2024 to 15/01/2026
• Individual Event (International): Sportsperson who have participated or won medals in any International Sports tournament/competition/Championship as member of the Indian contingent conducted/recognized by International Sports Federation affiliated/recognized by IOC/IOA/MOYAS
• Individual Event (National): Players who have won medals in National Games/Senior National Championship/National Open Championship or Youth/Junior National Championship conducted/recognized by National Sports Federation affiliated/recognized by IOA/MOYAS
• Team Event (International): Sportsperson who have participated or won medals in international sports tournament/competition/Championship conducted/recognized by International sports federation affiliated/recognized by IOC/IOA/MOYAS
• Team Event (National): Sportsperson who have won medals in National Games/Senior National Championship/National Open Championship or Youth/Junior National Championship while representing any State/UT/Sports Control Board/recognized federation
• Sportsperson should be the main playing member of the team and not in reserved list for team events
• Minimum qualifying marks: 12 marks (for all categories UR/SC/ST/OBC)

Age Limit 

18 to 23 years

• Age Relaxation for SC/ST: 5 years
• Age Relaxation for OBC (NCL): 3 years
• Age Relaxation for Departmental Candidates: 5 years with 3 years continuous service, plus additional 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC
• Only the Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation Certificate will be accepted for determining the age
• OBC (NCL) certificate should have been obtained within one year before the closing date of online application

Selection Process

1. Scrutiny of Applications
   All online applications are carefully examined to verify eligibility based on age, educational qualification, and sports achievements. Only eligible candidates are shortlisted for the next stage.
2. Document Verification
   Shortlisted candidates must produce original documents related to educational qualification, age proof, caste certificate (if applicable), and valid sports certificates issued by recognized authorities.
3. Physical Standard Test (PST)
   Candidates are assessed for prescribed physical standards such as height, chest (for male candidates), and weight as per BSF norms.
4. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
   Qualified candidates have to undergo physical activities like running, long jump, and high jump to test their physical fitness.
5. Sports Performance Test / Trial
   Candidates’ sports skills, performance level, and achievements are evaluated by an expert sports board based on their respective disciplines.
6. Medical Examination
   Candidates who qualify in all previous stages undergo a detailed medical examination to ensure they meet BSF medical standards.
7. Final Merit List
   The final selection is made on the basis of sports achievements, performance in trials, and medical fitness. Selected candidates are appointed as Constable (GD) in BSF.

Salary & Benefits

• Pay Level: According to the 7th Central Pay Matrix, Level 3
• Basic Pay: around ₹21,700 per month (beginning)
